Simple Steps for Organizing, Sorting and Storing your Scrapbook and Craft paper

Go from piles of paper	To boxes with this easy system.

Our goal in this article is to provide you with simple steps to get your scrapbooking paper organized.  We’ll be sorting your paper into 3 major groups and then dividing those groups into smaller groups.

The major groups are:

Themes A-Z

Holidays/Seasons (The Calendar Year)

The Rainbow

 

 In order to complete this task you’ll need; Paper Storage Boxes, SuperSized Single Storage Sheets, and Self-Adhesive Labeling Tabs.   Get the Storage Combo Kit - Click here.

 Your first step is to create a list of Themes you scrap/craft about.  It will be different for every crafter, but in general you might have things like:

Beach

Birthday

Camping

Family

Sports

 Step 2: Put your Paper Storage Boxes together. Simply follow the instructions on the bottom of the box. Use “Sticky Notes” to label each of the boxes.  The “Sticky Notes” will get you through the initial sorting process.  You can add real labels when you’re done sorting all of your paper.  Click here to see ideas on how to decorate or label your Paper Storage Boxes.

 

 Step 3: Begin sorting.  Sort in SMALL batches, this will insure that you can complete the task without being interrupted.  I would suggest maybe a 2 or 4 inch stack of paper.  You’ll need a large space, something like a dining table works best. 

Begin by sorting the papers into piles that match your Themes, or that fit a Holiday, Season or color category.Once your stack of paper is sorted, put each of the individual piles into a SuperSized Single Storage Sheet. Adhere a Labeling Tab to the edge of the Storage Sheet. Remember that only the top half of the SuperSized Single will stick out of the box, so don’t put the labels too far down the Storage Page.Write the name of the theme, holiday, or season on an insert strip and insert into the labeling tab.Put filled and labeled SuperSized Single into the appropriate Storage Box.

 

Repeat this process one step at a time until you’ve sorted all of your paper into the appropriate category.
